For bouldering teams & gyms

Let’s work on what your team needs.

You know your athletes. I can help you understand their physical strengths, work through training questions, and see what changes over a season.

I’m Ben, an exercise physiologist and bouldering coach. We can start with a team testing session or talk about ongoing support for your coaches.

What working together looks like

The first step is a conversation. You don’t need to arrive with a list of tests or a finished plan.

See the testing options
  1. Tell me about your team.

We start with who you coach, what they’re working towards, and how your sessions run. Then we choose the tests and support that fit your athletes and your calendar.

  2. Test, then sit down with the results.

Testing might include finger strength on a 20mm edge or how quickly an athlete produces force. You get individual reports, and we go through what the results mean alongside what you see on the wall.

  3. Use it in training. Check back later.

We discuss what to work on, how to fit it into training, and when to retest. Your coaches make the programming decisions. I help with the physiology and the questions that come up along the way.

Help with the work between testing days

Someone to talk training with

Bring a training plan, a loading question, or an athlete who has stopped progressing. We can talk through strength work, system board sessions, and how those fit around bouldering projects or competitions.

Reports you can explain to your athletes

We review each athlete’s results and look for patterns across the team. I can help coaches, athletes, and parents understand the testing and why you might choose a particular training focus.

A way to follow up through the season

Check-ins and repeat testing give us a chance to see how athletes are responding. We agree on useful points to review, taking your training blocks and competition dates into account.

Keeping the training in one place

We’ll use TeamBuildr as part of your team’s plan to assign training and track athletes’ sessions. I’ll help with setup so your coaches can review what athletes are doing between testing days.

TeamBuildr platform fee

$5 CAD per athlete / month

I charge $5 CAD per athlete each month for TeamBuildr as part of the plan. Testing and coaching support are quoted separately once we’ve talked through what your team needs.
